Glory to God for all He has done and the impact that the Mission Trip to the Autochtone Pygmy People has created. It was by the divine call of God and the help of the body of Christ that made this possible!
From August 8th to the 19th, 2024 we were in Gabon/Ogoué Ivindo in the villages of 1) Venelle, 2) Etakangayi, 3) Imbong, in Central Africa. There we ministered to the Bakoya, Baka people.
Salvations:
- 1st time: 8 confirmed
- Re-dedications: over 30
- Altar call responses: at least 20 out of a congregation size of over 100 people or more
Over 20% received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues. In each meeting about 50% of gatherings showed signs of unclean spirits manifesting and leaving. There was a team of ministers in a separate room that individuals would be brought to so as not to disrupt the meetings. In one gathering, all 3 villages with all village chiefs gathered, and in that meeting there was mass response of repentance, deliverance, and healing reported, and over 70% of the people responded that night.
Most healings were of spiritual nature dealing with rebuking and casting out unclean spirits, and those influenced or involved in initiations of witchcraft activities. Many just fell under the anointing of the Holy Spirit without us having to touch them. Each village had different sizes and dynamics. We managed to provide a few gifts to cover essential needs, such as soap, clothes, cooking oil, mosquito nets, salt, etc, along with
education on how to use them with demonstrations. Before distributing the gifts we made sure to present the Gospel and remind them of the One who sent us Jesus. We presented the testimony of how God spoke to us about going to visit them. The way God touched them and filled their hearts was something special.
We can do it again and through God’s help, we look forward to revisiting 6 months to a year from now. We invite you to pray about joining the excitement and opportunity that can also change your life!
Who are the Pigmy
The Pigmy Bayaka tribe in Gabon are a dwarf-like people who live mostly in the forest isolated from the rest of society. The Bantu would seek out Pigmy for secret wisdom and knowledge concerning the supernatural, healing and use of nature. Unlike the Bantu, they are not polygamists. The Pigmy have been undervalued by society, yet thought to be the first inhabitants of the African continent. The earliest reference to Pygmies is written on the tomb of Harkuf, an explorer for the young King Pepi II of Ancient Egypt. References are also made to a pygmy brought to Egypt during the reign of King Isesi, approximately 200 years earlier. They are polytheists and consider themselves as “Children of the Forest.” Two of their gods are named Komba (the Creator of all things) and Jengi (the spirit of the forest) which the Jengi influences them most. Pigmy are traced back to ancient Greece and referenced in literature such as Homer, Herodotus and Aristotle.
